Adopted at infancy into a family from Spartanburg, SC, Sam Godfrey is an artist whose music embodies American grit and heart. Drawing on his experience growing up in working-class America, Sam's passion is writing and performing songs about life in the South, love, and real-life struggles. His journey into music took off in 2024 when he teamed up with former Marshall Tucker Band guitarist Rusty Milner and began cutting demos. Raised on southern gospel, steel-guitar cowboy ballads, and the '80s highway heartland rock, Sam has forged a sound steeped in storytelling, southern tradition, and raw authenticity.
Opening for iconic artists such as Josh Turner and SJ McDonald, in addition to performances across theatres and festivals in the Southeast—including Henderson Auditorium, Whiskey Cowgirl, Preservation Pub, Cowboy Up GVL, Anderson Soirée, and Mill Town Theatre—Sam is proud to carry on a legacy of honest music. His latest high-energy EP, "Ride Along," is available now.
