Adopted at infancy into a family from South Carolina, Sam Godfrey is an artist whose music reflects his working-class Southern upbringing. Writing and performing songs centered on life in the South, young love, and everyday struggles, Godfrey leans into a style rooted in honesty and lived experience. His musical path gained momentum in 2024 after teaming up with former Marshall Tucker Band guitarist Rusty Milner to begin recording demos, which shaped a sound influenced by Southern gospel, steel-guitar cowboy ballads, and ’80s heartland rock.
Opening for iconic artists such as Josh Turner and SJ McDonald, in addition to performances across theatres and festivals in the Southeast—including Henderson Auditorium, Whiskey Cowgirl, Preservation Pub, Cowboy Up GVL, Anderson Soirée, and Mill Town Theatre—Sam is proud to carry on a legacy of honest music. Steadily connecting with a new generation of listeners while staying grounded in traditional country roots, his latest high-energy EP, "Ride Along," is available now.
